Emergency First Aid & Basic Rescuer CPR Level C

8 Teaching Hours New Certification

Purpose:

To certify participants with the basics of emergency first aid and CPR so they can assist in emergency situations until EMS/ 911 arrives on the scene. This course meets the requirements set out by WSIB for companies with 1-5 employees.

 

Objectives:

To have participants be able to take control of an emergency situation until control can be passed to emergency services personnel.

 

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course.

AED

Legalities

Choking Emergencies

Bleeding

Shock

Falls – Strains/Sprains/Fractures

 

Spinal Injuries

Poisons & Allergies

Heat & Cold Injuries/Illnesses

Back & Chest Injuries

Heart Attack, Angina and Stroke

Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABCs) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

 

Materials:

Each new participant will receive a course manual and a Red Cross wallet certificate.

 

Certifications:

Certification is valid for 3 years as determined by medical control, legislation or professional designation. Recertification of CPR is recommended annually.
