Emergency Child Care First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR Level C

8 Hours for New Certification

4 Hours Re-Certification

Purpose:

To certify participants with the basics of first aid and infant/child CPR so that they can assist in emergency situations until EMS 911 arrives on the scene.

 

Objectives:

To have participants feel comfortable enough to be able to take control of an emergency situation until control can be passed to emergency services personnel.

 

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Falls – Strains/Sprains/Fractures

Seizures

Burns

Poisons & Allergies

Infant and Child Respiratory and Cardio-vascular Emergencies

Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABCs) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

 

Materials:

Each new participant will receive a Red Cross First Aid manual and Red Cross wallet certificate.

 

Certifications:

Certification is valid for 3 years as determined by medical control, legislation or professional designation. Recertification for CPR is recommended annually.
