Standard First Aid & Basic Rescuer CPR Level C14 Teaching Hours New Certification

Purpose: |
To certify participants with the basics of first aid and CPR so they can assist in emergency situations until EMS 911 arrives on the scene. This course meets the requirements set out by WSIB for companies with 5+ employees.

Objectives: |
To have participants feel comfortable enough to be able to take control of an emergency situation until control can be passed to emergency services personnel.

EMS/9-1-1 System AED Legalities Disease Management/Biohazards Scene Management Choking Emergencies Diabetes Bleeding Shock Falls – Strains/Sprains/Fractures Splinting Spinal Injuries

Seizures Burns Poisons & Allergies Heat & Cold Injuries/Illnesses Back & Chest Injuries Motor Vehicles Collisions Water Accidents Rescue Carries Heart Attack, Angina and Stroke – Definitions, Risk Factors Recognition and Management Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABCs) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) |
Materials: |
Each new participant will receive a Red Cross manual and Red Cross wallet certificate.

Certification is valid for 3 years as determined by medical control, legislation or professional designation. Recertification for CPR is recommended annually. |
